When to plant what?

If you're a seasoned gardener, you know that timing is everything—some plants thrive in cool weather, while others need the heat of summer!

The grid below shows the plants I’m selling and their ideal planting times, arranged from the earliest to the latest in the season. Since Minnesota spring weather can be unpredictable, these dates are based on average temperatures and serve as general guidelines for when it’s safe to plant outdoors.

 

If you do plant the more tender plants and frost is in the forecast, you should plan to cover those plants during cold weather.
